Pay Spines

Pay Spines are tables which hold details of pay rates, London Allowances (when applicable) and pay components by grade. Each grade is divided into a number of spine points and each spine point holds the pay rate details. A person’s pay is determined by reference to the appropriate grade and spine point.

  • Unlimited number of pay spines for each payroll
  • Up to 100 spine points and up to 20 grades per pay spine
  • Each pay spine point can hold an annual salary, an hourly rate and up to 5 other components
  • Pay Spines can hold a London Allowance for salaries, a London Allowance hourly rate, and up to 8 other components
  • Lowest and highest pay spine points can overlap with adjacent grades
  • For each value the system holds the ‘OLD’ rate, the ‘CURRENT’ rate and the ‘NEW’ rate
  • Calculate arrears, if a review is late
  • Apply new rates by changing all the employees CURRENT rate to NEW rates instantaneously
  • Increase salaries, hourly rates or any attached components by percentage
  • London Allowance can be shown as a separate item on the payslip, or can be added to the basic pay
