Thames Power Selects Payroll Bureau From Rutherford Webb

New payroll solution delivers efficiencies and improved reporting for Thames Power Human Resources department.

Thames Power Services Ltd, operator and maintainer of Barking Power Station in Dagenham, Essex, has selected Payroll Bureau from Rutherford Webb to process its monthly payroll for 90 employees. Thames Power chose Rutherford Webb’s solution to replace its former payroll bureau system and to link with its HR database, Professional Personnel. Bringing the administration of the payroll in-house enables Thames Power to manage payroll data easier and improve its management reports.

Thames Power’s HR department maintains the payroll data via a desk-top front-end system, which also enables it to run reports detailing payroll information. The payrolls are processed monthly, along with pension payments and bonus schemes, by RW Bureau. Updating the data in-house to change salary details, holiday pay or overtime hours enables Thames Power to maintain better control of personnel and payroll data. The reporting facility is used to provide the management team with information on pay schemes and bonuses.

Mavis Dulieu, HR Administrator at Thames Power Services Ltd commented,

“We were impressed by Rutherford Webb’s proven expertise in providing payroll systems. Switching from our previous bureau service gives us much more control over our data, reducing duplication and is proving a much more efficient way of working.”

Stephen Teal, Managing Director at Rutherford Webb added:

“Rutherford Webb provides a flexible range of payroll services which is ideal for companies like Thames Power Services. By taking over the processing of payroll, and supplying a desk-top system in-house, we provide the best of both worlds. HR and finance departments know that the payroll will be calculated correctly, and they still have instant access to all the data required to focus on managing the important issues of payroll, such as planning and forecasting pay schemes and benefits.”
