BRITANNIA HOTELS SELECTS PAYRITE®® FOR GROUP PAYROLL
Press Release
8th March 2005
Leading hotel group requires flexible report writer and variable pay options for multi-skilled seasonal workforce
Britannia Hotels, the leading privately owned hotel group in the UK, has selected Payrite®®, Rutherford Webb’s payroll management system to administer 2500 weekly paid and 500 monthly paid employee payrolls across its 28 hotels nationwide. Britannia chose Payrite® for its flexible report writer, its ease of use and the fact that it can link to its nominal ledger system. Britannia Hotels plans to email the individual hotels with files for them to print and distribute their own employee payslips.
Payrite® was chosen to replace the existing in-house payroll system after reviewing others on the market. Payrite® closely matched the hotel group’s requirements to be able to amend employee details easily on the payroll. Many staff work in different hotels and departments within the group and the payroll needs to be able to accommodate these costing splits and other seasonal variations in staff pay.
The nominal ledger interface with Payrite® enables Britannia to create a set of nominal codes in the general ledger for payroll items, allowing codes to be allocated to every individual pay element on the payroll.
The Payrite® Software also enables Britannia Hotels to file its end of year tax returns via the Internet, saving time and reducing the risks of forms being lost in the post.
Irina Kotovas, Payroll Manager at Britannia Hotels said; “Our philosophy at Britannia Hotels is to have a flexible, multi-skilled workforce which of course needs to be reflected in our payroll. We selected Payrite® because it can easily accommodate variations in staff locations and hours and we can track and report them. With over 42 payrolls to complete before the end of the tax year, we require a robust, flexible system that we can rely upon.”
Stephen Teal, Managing Director at Rutherford Webb commented, “With Payrite® we aim to automate as much of the payroll as possible. This makes it an ideal choice for the hospitality and leisure industry where there tend to be a lot of part-time and temporary workers, as well as shifts, costing splits and bonus payments. All these elements add up to a complex requirement, which Payrite® is well suited to meet.”
